administrative-divisons-db is an open dataset served over HTTP that lists the administrative subdivisions of countries worldwide — states, provinces, regions, and their cities. A caller can list the supported countries, retrieve every administrative division for a given country, and drill into a division to list the cities it contains. It is used to populate country, state, and city selection data without a paid geodata provider. No credentials required.
